Bright annealing treatments can be performed on a wide
range of carbon, alloy, stainless steel, and non-ferrous materials.
Bright annealing is typically performed in batch vacuum furnaces and in
continuous hydrogen atmosphere belt furnaces, depending on part size and
geometry. The process is typically
used with fine surface quality stampings and screw
machine parts. The advantage of
bright annealing is the prevention of scale or oxidation on the surface of
critical components. The surface
quality and cleanliness of the bright annealed part may exceed that of the raw
part.
